Oh well, I’m on my way to Palm Beach, Florida for what is going to be 6 days of battery recharging, family time and… blogging time! Indeed, my first new year’s resolution is definitely to have Anchor Blog officially published under it’s domain name and all set up so all is left to do is… blog! So let’s take a look back to the recent years before I speculate on the future travel plans and adventures.

Ever since I moved to Alberta, which was in 2010, my life has been filled with travels and adventures either across my home country, Canada, or elsewhere in the world! It’s been 5 intense years where I have learned so much about myself, the world, what I want and what I don’t want. First, to simply move to Alberta meant a lot. New culture, new language, new friends, new everything. Was it easy? Never. Was it worthy? Totally! Canada is such a big country and I’ve just started to discover it east and west. Travelling my own country is a “work in progress” and some places and included in my bucket list for this coming year! Second, going on my very first solo backpacking trip in Australia was two things: unexpected and amazing! I knew I had the travel bug from visiting France, Guatemala and El Salvador in my teenage years but it’s in Canada and Australia that I discovered I had a very serious case of travel bug. Australia has lead way to many beautiful things and my establishment in Alberta lasted two more years as that’s where my heart was. During those two years I’ve travelled within Canada, Mexico and the United-States but not far in my mind was the idea of a very long trip. Slowly I started to discuss that with my boyfriend… and slowly he started to want this longer trip as much as me… I guess my travel bug is contagious as now he’s just like me! Then came South East Asia, a wonderful journey that lasted 6 months for me, on which I spent 3 months all by myself. Again, it’s been incredibly amazing. Now, I live in Montreal, which is not home (Québec City), but not to far from home either. My life has changed a lot, going from a wealthy lifestyle to student loans, freelance web creator and full time student lifestyle. The difference is huge and it’s quite a challenge to adapt, but I am confident it’s all for the best.

Now, I’m only going to work harder in order to make another trip possible this year, or perhaps a few smaller trips! Here’s my bucket list for 2017:

  • Visit another US state – California maybe? Or Nevada – and check the Grand Canyon of the lifetime bucket list as well?!

  • Go camping – or else – in eastern Canada – meaning Gaspesie or Ontario for example

  • Head to Europe over the summer! Italy? France? Spain? Greece? Go!

That’s a short but realistic bucket list for 2017, which is also occupied by 2 university semesters and a friend’s wedding!
