Following my last article, I am sure I have left many of you with the feeling that Thailand might not be worth visiting. Let me adjust that negative statement. Thailand is worth visiting, I just advise that you should target were you want to go and why because otherwise, you could find yourself merely disappointed of your time in this country. Here, I will emphasize more on my musts do since I have already talked about what I did not like on THIS POST. Phuket Town: the view point Ready for a nice morning work out and some fresh air ? Let's go up the winding road leading to the view point over Phuket Town and the shore line. I would say it's moderately steep but taking your time, anyone could do it. Make sure you watch out for the crazy bus, van and motorbike riders in the curves, there's no side walk so stay on the road side. Most of the way up is in the shade and the air is fresh... It's a road in the middle of the jungle. I saw many Buddhist monks along the way, working on some installation in the middle of the luxurious forest. Once you get near the top there's some kind of primitive fitness park where you can test you balancing skills and work more on your glutes haha. Then you get to the view point which is soaked in the sun, offering and spectacular view of the shore line, the mountains and a big part of Phuket. It's beautiful, and free!!!

Tiger Cave Temple If you are spending some time around Krabi or Ao Nang and you are fit, looking for a very efficient leg, butt and cardio work out: head to the Tiger Cave Temple. Please note, there's no tiger there, only a ginormous Buddha and hundreds of monkeys. Alright, so I made very clear that you need to be fit... To enjoy the way up I guess. Otherwise I am sure you will find it quite painful, but still so worth it. To reach the big Buddha, you need to climb up 1237 steps, they say. I say 1237x2 = 2474. Why? Because one step is not the average step, it's more like the double in height. So if you walk up all these steep and high stairs, I believe it's the equivalent of walking up the double number of normal stairs. Anyways, better for the glutes, quads and their muscle friends. Once you have reached the top of the mountain, you will forget all that you had to endure, I promise you. It took me about 40 minutes, including a couple stop to calm my legs and catch my breath. Once I got there, I found a much welcome wind and a stunning view. The mountain top overlooks the mountains on one side, the cities and the country side on the other. The Buddha is literally massive and the temple seems to be right out of a fairy tale. There was not to many people... I guess some didn't make it to the top! ;) Before I forget, it's also FREE, unlike many temples!!! Anyways, worth doing it! It reminded me of the Grouse Grind in Vancouver! Here's some picture that testify for the view being even more breathtaking than the ascend.
Read about my Diving on Koh Tao, where I've passed my Open Water Diver certification! It's definitely part of my "Best of Thailand"! This is it! Thailand is almost coming to an end! Stay tuned, next article will be about something called "Full Moon Party", ever heard of that ?
