Bali... yes Bali! Just like in Eat, Pray, Love, just like in my dreams! I finally get to see, smell, taste and live the Balinese Culture !

I hear you think 'there's so much tourists, it's ridiculous!' and it's true. But, Bali is also something like 90% hinduist when all of Indonesia is now something like 90% islamist. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against islam - I am only stating that Indonesia's fundamental culture was based on two religions : none of them is Islam. With Bali being so centered on it's original religion, you can immediatly feel and see the difference with Java.
Every morning, the people of Bali put offerings at the entrance of their properties. It's a Hindu ritual, they make sure the gods are keeping them safe by thanking them and appeasing them. The offerings are made mostly of flowers, palm leaves and sometimes small religion-related objects. They are on every doorway and on every god's statue all over the island. It sure is beautiful to witness this. But, what is even more beautiful is to witness all the faith they put in such gesture everyday. The balinese women spend a considerable amount of time every day to make those offerings. When you actually have seen them working so hard on those little crafts everyday, you realized the greatness of their faith and the important of Hindu beliefs in their daily life.

Kuta - surf up your life!
I have stayed for a while in Kuta! First intentionally as we chose to explore around Bali with Kuta for homebase and then unintentionally as Denpasar airport was shut down for many consecutive days due to the Mount Rinjani volcanic eruption on Lombok.
