I decided to take actions after realizing that the volcano's ash could was really not in a stable mood. Oh and, I confirm, Jet Star is a very crappy company, and CheapOair.com a very shitty booking website. After having no clue what to do, nobody telling us what options we had we just went straight to the airport - even if Jetstar's website was clearly saying NO don't come to the airport if we haven't contacted you. I'm gald I did that! I argued with a JetStar representative so they change our departure airport for free so we can leave from Surabaya, meaning we have to get to Surabaya by our own means. Which we did! In a local bus, supposedly leaving Denpasar at 5pm - left at...7pm - , going to Gilimanuk to board a ferry boat, -waited about 2 hours there on the tarmac-. On the ferry, we were, again, the only non-locals, everybody starring at us like if our skin was green and we had only one eye and 3 fingers! Back in the bus for another long ride from Banyuwanggi to Surabaya. I don't know how but I think I managed to sleep there and there... the driving is absolutely INSANE! Imagine a big bus on a 2 lane 2 ways highway, going super fast, passing everyone using the opposite way lane and rushing before the mext vehicle comes for a face to face chat. OMG! Honking non-stop... Craziest ride ever! And guess what ? Everyone in the bus was sleeping... and snoring! Hahaha!

Anyways.. 15 hours later we were in Surabaya, heading straight to the airport. After a night in the bus, a night on Singapore's airport's floor awaited! Did I tell you I love travelling ? Haha!
15 hours of bus and total local immersion got me thinking...
I was looking at that big kid in the bus and wondering what he might be dreaming of, what are his expectations of the future. It has to be different than what I was dreaming of at his age since apparently we come from two diametrically opposed worlds - and here, I am not saying mine is better! - so our horizons are certainly different. But, does childhood & innocence put limits on dream ? Does he also dream of being the greatest detective of all times like I did ? Does he dream of something bigger than his mean. What are his mean ? Can he ever hope to reach greater education level in a western university ? Then again, I am not saying the western world is better but I do believe that in term of education levels, we are lucky to have such a big range of choices and levels we can reach. Anyways, that kid, I hope he dreams bigger than the life he lives now. Aren't dreams the fuel of our existences? Dreams push you to overcome your fears, to be braver than life can be unfair, and push yourself higher and higher. If there's one thing that should be equal it's the possibility to one's to access education -or say knowledges- and to rise it's level as there are no limits.
